Clouds and radiation and microphysics, oh my!

I just found out who is sponsoring my fellowship from the AMS: it's the good folks from the Atmospheric Radiation Measurement Program (ARM) over at the Department of Energy. Their main mission is to improve how models deal with clouds and such, which is, I assume, why they are interested in me - I'm very interested in the data assimilation side of modeling. They also have field campaigns from the Azores to the Tropical Western Pacific to the North Slope of Alaska. Very cool.
